Frequently asked questions

Here's some common questions people have. If your question isn't listed here, don't be afraid to contact us.

How do I communicate with hosts for a cottage I am interested in?

From each listing page, currently you can send a request to the host by filling out a form with your details which is automatically emailed directly to them. They will respond to you over email so you should receive a response directly (remember to check the junk folder).

What if I need to cancel my stay?

If you book directly through the host, all cancellation requests should be discussed/solved through host directly. We do ask hosts to list their cancellation policies on each listing so you are aware of them before booking.

Does Royal Cottages help in resolving disputes I have with host regarding my stay?

We do ask that you report a host/bad experience regarding a specific listing for our information as we have policies in place with hosts for only a maximum tolerated number of reports, post which they are taken down from the platform. This button can be found at the bottom of every listing. However, we do not mitigate, and are not responsible for, solving conflicts between you and the host as every host currently operates under their own rental agreements over which we have no responsibility or liability.

What if the host of the property I booked is being unresponsive to my questions?

Although in direct bookings, once booked, we defer to hosts to communicate with Guests directly, in the event you don’t hear back from your host within 48 hours or if it’s an emergency situation during the time of your stay, please contact us and we will try to get in touch with the host from our end to assist.

Can I book my stay directly through Royal Cottages?

Soon! We are working on setting up direct payment, contracting and host communication through Royal Cottages platform and should have the service available very soon.
